Practice Nurse (Level 1)
The Level 1 Practice Nurse competency training course will give nurses and clinics the confidence that best practice is being adhered to within the General Practice.
Staff will be guided through the use of practical information which will assist you to increase patient safety and quality of care for your clients. that has been derived from our team’s experiences and current best practice.

Course Pre Requisites
Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse
Course Outline
Participants will be guided through the following topic areas:
- Partnering with consumers- Understanding the benefits consumers can have when involved in their care and your clinic.
- Emergency action flowchart – Preparing for emergency response.
- Governance – Understanding effective Governance systems.
- Informed consent – Understanding the consent process and documenting appropriate consent.

This course is a self-paced online course with online assessment; however, private onsite courses can be run over an agreed number of days by experienced consultants through negotiation.
Course Duration
The online course will take approximately 1 hour per lesson and 12 hours to complete.
Course Assessment
Every lesson results in either a Pass or Fail. The value in assessing your team’s current knowledge base is to identify any areas which could benefit from some improvement.

- Working with Interpreters – Communicating the needs of both clients and health professions provides an avenue for greater healthcare.
- Cold chain – Maintaining vaccine potency is everyone’s responsibility, make it yours.
- Dealing with conflict while Nursing- Understanding the true nature of aggressive behaviours may prevent escalation of further misunderstanding and assist with recognising when to use emergency alerts.
